Abstract
:
The aim of the research is to identify the effect of the interaction between the (virtual/ personal) e-learning environment and the level of self-learning ability (high/ low) on critical thinking and achievement in mathematics among secondary school students. In order to achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher relied on the semi-experimental approach, where the research tools were in the measure of self-learning ability, electronic achievement test, and an electronic measure of the skills of critical thinking , after verifying the validity of the research tools and their consistency, they were applied to a sample of (35) female high school students. The data were processed using the SPSS statistical program and the research reached a number of results: There are no statistically significant differences at the level (0.05) between the average scores of the first experimental group students who use the (virtual e-learning environment), and the second experimental group that use the (PLE) in the post-measurement scores of the Critical Thinking Scale. While there were statistically significant differences at the level (0.05) between the average scores of the two experimental groups in the scales of the achievement test for the second experimental group, which uses (PLE). There were also statistically significant differences at the level (0.05) between the average scores of students of the two experimental groups in academic achievement and critical thinking skills due to the basic effect of the different level of self-learning ability (high / low) in favor of students with high ability level, also no differences Statistically significant at the level (0.05) between the average scores of students of experimental groups as a result of interaction between the pattern of e-learning environment (virtual / personal) and the level of self-learning ability (high / low) in academic achievement and critical thinking skills. Key words: e-learning - e-learning environment – (VLE) virtual e-learning environment – (PLE) personal e-learning environment - self-learning - critical thinking- academic achievement.
