Abstract
:
This study aims to identify the impact of work pressures on the leadership styles of the directors of at the General Department of Education in Jeddah, by identifying the main causes of work stress and identifying the leadership styles of the directors of the General Department of Education in Jeddah, which are more common. The study used the descriptive analytical methodology, as it is suitable for the nature of the study, and the study was applied to all directors of Jeddah Education Department, (64) respondents, (25) of them are women's section, and (39) are men. The study's results showed that the most important factors causing the work stresses for directors of Jeddah Education Department were personal, organizational and environmental factors with medium level. And the most prominent leadership styles among the directors of Jeddah Education Department were the democratic was the democratic (40%) followed by the permissive (38.6%) and in the third place was the dictatorial style (21.4%) .The results also showed that there was a significant inverse relationship between the factors (environmental - organizational) ) That causes work stresses and democratic style. And also there was a statistically significant positive relationship between the (environmental-organizational) factors causing work stresses and the permissive style of the directors of Jeddah Education Department, while there was no statistically significant relationship between the personal factors causing the work stresses and the permissive style of the directors of Jeddah Education Department. Based on this study's findings, the study recommended the following recommendations: Preparation of special programs to develop the skills of managers in dealing with work stresses and under the supervision of specialists in the field of psychological, administrative and social sciences in management of coping with work stresses, and encourage leaders to adopt the practice of democratization because of its significant inverse relationship to the levels of work stresses and reducing the practice of dictatorial and permissive styles as much as possible.
